Paper Labels

Gentlemen:

Any suggestions on removing paper labels from metal radio cabinets so they
can be reapplied after refinishing.  While on the topic of refinishing, I live
in a New York City (Manhattan) apartment, and although my wife is a ham (no
code tech) and supports my hobby, she would have a fit if I started spraying
paint.  Anyone out there do this as a sideline.  Finally, need the little black
knob for the Ant. Trim control on a Heath HR-10B receiver.  Thanks in advance
for any information.  I always learn a lot from the experts in the group.
