Hi Jim,

I've said it before---that FIRST EDITION (1963) of the ARRL's "Understanding
Amateur Radio" is THE tech manual for to-day's glowbug
homebrewer/AM'er/whatever...

The chapter on modulators is SUPER---as is the section on building
VFO's...indeed, the entire book is a true gem. I know---I've already
completely WORN OUT (!) my first copy of this treasure...!
