The regulator only controls the screen of the 6AU6 VFO
tube.  One thing that helped stablilize the VF-1
(which is the same VFO circuit) is to drop the screen
regulation to 105 volts and then regulate the plate
voltage at 150 volts.  This requires an additional
regulator tube and a slight rewiring.
