Neil,

Your own message answers the issue. When YOU asked "Will all Internet
capable amateurs be willing to subscribe there to read it all?" and YOU
continue with "I seriously doubt it." YOU have hit the nail on the head.
Amateurs want choices. If they don't subscribe to those other sites it might
be because they don't want it. Remember, amateurs are intelligent,
technical, and informed because they have multiple sources for information.
Why should every forum be redundant? This one does nicely doing what it
typically has done catering to technical issues. When I go to those other
forums it is because of their content, but I don't want their content
continuously. I am also pragmatic and feel that if members here want to
alert others to what they think might be topics of interest, such as BPL,
then a one line message directing those interested to another forum would be
appropriate.
