I was the one who sent the message to ARRL, and I wasn't as offended as some
who responded! In reality, the situation in which our "glow in the dark"
rigs will save the country's bacon is really a stretch! Let's face it-we do
it for nostalgia and fun! I just made 120 or so qsos, CW and SSB, in the
California QSO party using a Marauder, SX101, HA1 Keyer, D104, and Matchbox.
So don't get mad at the ARRL-they're trying to focus on the purpose of the
event, and I can't blame them for not giving extra credit. I still plan to
bring the old stuff, and we'll all have fun!

Doesn't fit? Yeah that ole tube gear is only thing that is EMP proof,
unlike those rice boxes and Cra-, I mean PACtor garbage they
want all of us to accept.
