I can think of one reason for bidding that kind of money...  if you intend to
start reproducing and selling the kits. Having a complete kit along with all the
original construction manuals and alignment info MIGHT be worth the time saved.
You could just send the chassis parts out to be cloned, order the parts list,  and
off you go.

There is the question of whether there would be a market for such kits, and I just
don't know.
