Hi Lewis,

Kees Talen makes some great comments here, and I agree that
there are SOME prices for Heath rigs that are a great aberration.
There is NOT a great demnand for HW-101s because the supply
often exceeds the demand out there.

I see them tyopically going for $95 to $125 depending on
condition, and what comes with them. It's not unusual to find
a grubby or non-working one going for far less than $95.00

See below for some estimate ranges depending on circumstance.
Folks on eBay frequently pay considerably more for theings.

> Relative to --HEATHKITS--, many of which never worked right in the first

> A very few people who will buy unbuilt kits for $2400 .....great !

Unbuilt kits are a wild unknown territory. I have seen them it seems
like in the $1000-3000 range.

> Many people who have built units and use them .....great !
> Many people who have non working units and are fixing them .....great !

Get a baragain one for $40-50 at a hamfest or from a friend,
and that is a great bargain entry method to HF for SSB and CW.

> A number of people who sell working/nonworking units on ebay/reflectors
> ....great !

A little more than the hamfest prices and you have NO IDEA
what you are getting...

> A number of people who buy working/nonworking units on ebay/reflectors
> ....great !

On the reflectors many of us know each other and have little
better idea what we are getting into, and the prices are often
lower than eBay. There are exceptions of course, but that is
why many of us enjoy the reflectors.

> A few people who part them out, using some parts, selling some parts
> .....great !

That of course is a capital crime in some states (grin!) - states
with a lot of collectors and purists that is!

> A few people collecting them as "investments" .....huh ? ......well OK,
> great !

I guess - if we OPERATORS hold our noses, grin!

73 to all.
