Interesting Boatanchor Site

Well, if it goes like it usually does, his wife will come across a local
ham, or collector, who will offer maybe a couple hundred bucks...and he will
cart it all away for free. Then he will have a field day on ebay and clear
maybe a hundred thousand. Meanwhile said wife is happy to have all that
"junk" out of her way. Such is the way of SK's. I've tried to impress on
my dear wife the monetary value of my paltry collection for just such an
eventuallity. Also my son, who is also a ham, knows the value of what I
have. Did I mention that my wife is also a ham, but very inactive. She
uses the local repeaters to keep up with us when we are out of the house and
that's it. She also enjoys the beeps as she searches for local repeaters
when we go on a long trip.

I didn't see anything particularly rare or valuable in there; mostly just a
huge accumulation which could be accomplished by vacuuming local hamfests.
Even that "rare" Twenties crystal set is just a common loose coupler worth
maybe $50. To each his own I guess. I sure feel for his wife though for what
she may have to deal with someday. How would one deal with that? Make a
phone call?
