Eureka beacons and Rebecca

I am looking for caracteristics, functionalities and operating modes of  
"Eureka" beacons (transponders?) and "Rebecca" (interrogative device?) used  
during WW II to locate DZ or LZ.
 
Any information is sought because I have not the slightest idea on this  
devices.
