THE FINAL AMATEUR RADIO CW TEST (amateur radio moves forward)

Passing a code test was never a measure on one's ability to be a "good"
radio amateur. Hams who come into the fold going forward will probably
quickly see the advantages and the fun of operating CW. Having CW as a
requirement to obtain an amateur license never made any sense other than
a carryover from the "early days". Even the ARRL's W1AW, has no plans to
abandon its code practice and CW bulletins.

In New Jersey (don't know about other states), the requirement for
knowing and demonstrating hand signals is no longer required to pass an
automobile driving test. The world of driving didn't come to an end
because of this change.
