Sounds like a wonderful transmitter...

Only $1400 for a Valiant? I'll take three. (just kidding, Dee!)

Are you saying that it has a modulator with 150 watts of 
audio output from just TWO 6146B tubes? 

That seems like a lot. The usual max is about 90 watts audio.

I suppose they could maybe do it though, since Kenwood and others squeeze 
180 watts RF out of a pair.

ARRL Handbook tube section indicates that you can get 
120 watts max from a pair of them running at 750 V in 
class AB1.

How do you get 150 watts? Is the turbo RF section run  
300 watts input? Why does it need 150 watts of audio?

Just curious.... sounds like a really amazing rig.
