Hi Dennis;
The object is to disconnect the power amplifier so it puts out nothing.
What comes out is then being capacity coupled from grid to plate; the
thing you want to get rid of. You may need a more sensitive device like a
RF probe or oscilloscope. Once you see the output, adjust the
neutralizing capacitor for minimum output. You should be able to almost
eliminate it completely. Sometimes you can use the S meter on another
receiver. Good luck.
