Somebody was trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
Fedex has accepted many older radios from me with
values and insurance well over $100.00
They have even paid up with no questions asked after
damaging a couple of tube radios in the $200-300 range.
I think you asked too many questions of the wrong person!
