Viking I

Hi Ron,
I think Glen pointed you at the Johnson list.
    I got a V-1 about 18 mo.s ago, started a webpage on it, but didn't keep
up with the work on it like I did on the xmtr.
http://www.boatanchors.org/viking1.htm
I"ve gone thru it, rebuilt the audio section, almost everything had
drifited or gone leaky. I didn't go hi-fi like some think they do, but did
the work that reduced distortion and generally improved quality. I did a
PTT mod., and maybe a few others. Did keep notes, will scan & cc to you if
you'd like. I've used it on 160 & 75 AM some during last season. Have a
$deposit on it from a guy, but he's been 6 mo.s and hasn't come to pick it
up. Have a Valiant coming to replace it for the coming season, if I get a
round tuit when it arrives.
You can find a lot of stuff on it if you google it, the Viking 2, the
Ranger & the Valiant, they all have the same audio, in general, and domr
other things are applicable.
