Let me ask this question. If you now own the publishing rights of Heathkit
manuals, does this mean you now have liability risks surrounding shock
hazzards of old designs contained in these manuals? for example, we all
know it is dangerous to fuse both legs of an unpolarized line plug such as
is contained in a DX-100. Does this mean I can sue this owner for
negligence because his manuals have me do something unsafe in today's world?
It's my understanding when you buy something, you take the bad with the
good. So, the new owner should maybe "upgrade" all his manuals to reflect
present day safety standards. If he doesn't, maybe he will be negligent and
I have recourse if his circuits he is presently publishing is dangerous and
one of my family members gets hurt because of this negligence.
