Somewhat off topic?

HI. Subject is not entirely off topic. Changing cars for a trip, I needed to place the remote control for my DX-70 in a visable place and was stymied. I finally solved the problem by using a stocking full of rice where the top of the instrument panel meets the front door pillar and making a flat spot on top. I put a similiar sock over the top of the remote and it's cable.   I suppose sand would also work. Mounting my Garmin Street Pilot GPS with the top stocking placed over the suction cup bracket worked out fine also. BTW, suction cup mounted gear using a windshield suction cup is illegal in California!  Think of this method if you are renting a car, epecially if you re using your GPS. Fred W7PRV
