Technically the 9-pin plug that the person is looking for is an "octal style" plug as opposed to a miniature tube style, Jones plug, etc. At least for the almost 50 years that I have been licensed an "octal style" meant about the same size as an octal tube base / socket and with the locater pin in the center, same size pins, and so forth. There are 8, 9, 10, 11, and at least 12 pin "octal style" plugs and sockets.
Most "olde tymers" know for what he is looking.

9 pin "octal"... doesn't octal mean 8??? It did when I was going to school.
