Meter resistance question

Hi all,

To measure internal resistance of a panel meter I set current flow to full scale, I shunt it with a pot and adjust the needle to half scale than measure the pot.

My question is how do I correctly measure and list a zero center meter?

I have about 30 more meters to list and want to get it right.
