Coaxial Cable

I'm sort of in the same mode as you but I have a starting point because I
was given about 300' of 3/4" 75 ohm catv hardline. I am waiting to here back
from a salesperson from the cable company so that I can get a proper N
connector to fit onto the hardline and then I will purchase two N to PL-259
adapters. I'm told that the mis-match impedance will not make much
difference when one considers the low loss catv cable when compared to say
RG8U. I will use two short jumpers mad of RG8 at each end of the hardline.

Some cable tv companies will give away the odd ends left on a spool.

I plan to use it from just outside the shack to a remote antenna switch
mounted on the tower 150 from my shack. I'm also told the swr might be 2:1
but with my boatanchors who cares.

There are also several articles on the internet about making these adapters
out of common brass piping connectors if one doesn't want to spend the money
on factory made connectors.

Good luck

Jack
