Moving

In a rather surprising situation, I have to vacate my apartment by the
end of the month. I've been on a month to month lease and my landlady
has every right to do so but the short notice surprised the [expletive
deleted] out of me. She said she was going to revamp and the rent was
going up but didn't mention I had to go. Oh, well.

So anyway, I’m moving back into a veterans’ residential complex at the
old Barber’s Point NAS. The rooms have been vastly improved since I
lived there before, not that they were bad then, plus it’s a clean and
sober facility so I won’t have to deal with some of the problems here,
especially over weekends. Even better, the majority of the staff are
vets themselves so have a far better understanding of … well, things
like why I’m rated 100% disabled when I don’t *look* disabled.

This complicates things some but not enough to worry about. It means
I need a truck a lot sooner than anticipated and that might be an
added complication since I'll have to use the Jeep as down payment.
On the other hand, it may just be a hidden blessing since it might be
good for building the mobile comm shelter on. If I can, my shack on
wheels will become a reality and the mighty voice of a Hallicrafters
HT-32 will be heard from the islands. Once I work the bugs out.

Anyway, the Waianae address is dead. It's been fun being seaside but
I need to feel comfortable for me and that's back at the old converted
barracks. Besides, it's closer to the driving range and I definitely
need that practice. :-)

BEst regards,

Michael, WH7HG
