You can take a ride on the Ford at Oshkosh.
It's a lot more appealing from outside than in, I expect.  I haven't done it

yet.  I know it's brutally noisey.
I have flown to europe on DC-6, Connie, 707 (also Alaska-Japan-Korea).
MATS flights with quite a few babies, but glad I did it.
Later travel was around the world in first and business, much more 
comfortable but still boring!

Ahhhh, if only!  Seeing the Ford Tri-Motor and Hamilton Metalplane
that sold at the Barrett Jackson auction the last couple years had me
thinking anything was possible. Maybe they'll find one at the bottom
of a harbor somewhere and raise it one day. Seems like an important
part of aviation as well as transcontinental transportation to be
missing. At least we have the photos and movies.
