Except that postal inspectors are opening more and more Media Mail packages to see what is being shipped.  You consent to inspection when you ship by Media Mail.

Since the Post Office is hurting for money, they are doing a lot more to make sure that the proper mailing rates are being observed.

The clerks are like anyone else, they are going to read you the rules.
Pack all of your stuff weigh it and buy and print mailing labels at home.
Drop it at the Post Office and you're done.  It's really easy now.
