[Boatanchors] 6L6 & 6AG7 w/4 switched coils = what?

Someone hacked the innards of a Clegg 99er with
a 6L6 and a 6AG7 plus four switched coils, a
small air variable cap, power transformer, and
misc other components.

The faceplate of the rig looks original.
