[Boatanchors] 2C39 ??

  Actually, the EIMAC and RCA 2C39A,B and WA are ceramic metal tubes.
I can't find right off the specs for a plain 2C39. But I have seen glass ones.
Phillips made a glass 2C39A and the 2C41 which is similar to 2C39A has glass seals.

The 2C39 can be replaced with the 3CX100A5.  However, the 3CX100A5 is a better tube if, for no other reason, that it is a ceramic tube and not a glass tube like the 2C39.  The 3CX100A5 is considerably more rugged than the 2C39.
