[cisco-bba] SESM & 7301's

Thanks Peter,

I'll hunt down the API and have a look. We could certainly develop our own in-house application to work with this.
Michael Kopp, one of the contributors to ethereal, has told me that he's added the VSA used to ethereal (versions > 0.10.x)
If anyone's interested, the VSA of interest is 252 - Command Info

We only ended up with this particular solution because our company was a Cisco-only shop. They've now accepted adding some Extreme switches into the mix :-)

What are others on the list using for broadband? Pure aggregation isn't really that attractive any more - the customer expects value-add services as well. I've looked at the ERX with the SDX backend from Juniper, which was pretty good (and expensive), but haven't seen anything about some of the other manufacturers e.g. net.com

It'd be nice to see Cisco add some of the features available on their competitors platforms.I've been very impressed with the performance of the 7301's though - they stand up to DoS attacks exceptionally well.

Cheers,
Gordon
