[cisco-bba] Choosing new code [was: PPPoE connections that won't clear.]

Ok, I'm getting closer to installing new code. I'm currently using
c7200-is-mz.122-26.bin on an NPE400 with two OC-3 cards and based on the
previous suggestions here, I'm looking at the "SERVICE PROVIDER IPSEC 3DES
LAWFUL INTERCEPT" feature set of 12.3(14)T7, namely
c7200-pk9u2-mz.123-14.T7.bin. But I've also read lots of recommendations to
stay with the 12.2(xx)SB line, which would suggest going with 12.2(31)SB11,
namely c7200-p-mz.122-31.SB11.bin.

I predominately use PPPoA today, but also have some PPPoE which will grow.
I also do some PBR routing which will also go away. The box does several
Mbps of multicast for IPTV. For CALEA I need at least IP export support
which I'm told requires 12.3, but perhaps LAWFULL INTERCEPT is better/more
flexible? I have 512 MB of RAM, so that's not a problem.

Am I making a good choice, or should I be selecting another, more stable
release?

Regards,

Frank

Just for the archives: I usually don't blindly suggest "upgrade and be
happy".. But with the new PPP/AAA/VPDN code in 12.3, troubleshooting stuff
like this (and possibly also clearing the sessions) is much easier, plus the
enhanced scalability, etc.

To troubleshoot this (if it's really worth the effort), you could look at
the state of the session (show pppoe session) and go from there, but it
could be difficult to find out why these VAI's are in a "stuck" state.
