12.2(12a) has been fairly well-behaved for me.
(Mostly, that is - if you remove a "bridge-group 1" statement from an
FastE-Interface that is currently active briding, the router locks up
hard. So "don't do this, then". No bug ID, sorry - TAC wants money to

What kind of hardware is it that you need 12.1(8)EC for? The basic 7200
and NPE-225 should work fine with 12.0(21)S5, which is what I'd recommend.
