If your concern is how to make enough room on your 2500 for an IOS upgrade,
the process is simple, and manually "flashing" the memory is not required.
Since the 2500 were EOL'ed and have typically small memory mods, the process
is very straight forward and clean.

When you begin the process by copying the new image to the 2500 from say a
tftp, it will ask you if you want to confirm overwriting the existing
contents of flash (if there isn't enough room for both images).

When you confirm and have entered the IP of the tftp server, the system
automatically reboots, loads ROM, erases contents of flash and copies new
image from tftp. The system reboots once more and your automatically put in
the new image.

Fairly straight forward.

Kevin
