There are other reasons to stay away from Etherchannel between router
and switch also. We used to have several Etherchannels between 3548XLs
and 7206VXRs in production. It worked most of the time, but once in a
while we would discover that traffic had stopped on the Portchannel
interfaces. Investigating more closely, we would find OSPF on the
Portchannel interfaces stuck in EXSTART. A full shut/no shut was
required to get OSPF back to normal and traffic flowing again.
