Yes, I would think so. I just did a traceroute from a router that
wasn't bgp aware and the ASNs were not there, but they were there when I
did a traceroute from a bgp aware router.

I am looking into how a Cisco router is able to provide AS resolution in
a traceroute.
I am trying to write a traceroute program and would like to include that
info in my own traces. Would I have to have a BGP table of my own on the
server to get the info?
