[nsp] How to remove the config of a removed 6500 line card?

So we removed a 6500 line card from a slot - but the running config 
still has the entries for those interfaces.

How to get rid of them, short of a reload?

"no int fa3/4" returns "cannot remove physical interface"
A show int show "hardware removed", but still returns otherwise normal 
output.

Can I get rid of the could-be-somewhat confusing config entries for 
interfaces that are not there?
