Your configs looks fine, agreed. And it should work ... .

12.0(11)S3 ... yes. Beside a security problem with SNMP - which was 
fixed in 12.0(15)S - you should make use of all the bug fixes since 11S 
which is "fairly old", IMO.
Keep in mind that since 12.0(22)S both S and ST have been merged. So if 
you want to cross this "borderline" is up to you.

 From my memory we have 12.0(21)Sx and meanwhile some 12.0(23)S1 running 
on 7200 and 7500 access routers.
