It describes Smart Init behaviour in startup process regarding which
version of IOS was previously used (non-Smart Init or Smart init).
During the boot it gets information from Interface Cards (and router
itself) and calculates IOMem requirements.

And that is all that Smart Init is doing, so I don't think that they
will document anything more.
