I'm playing with a cisco 4700M+ with a 6 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)
card. show interface shows:
Ethernet0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is Am79c970, address is 0010.7b47.039a (bia 0010.7b47.039a)
  Internet address is 6.35.18.16/27
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
  Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
  Keepalive set (10 sec)
  Unknown duplex
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If I try to set duplex on the router like this:
ons(config)#interface ethernet 0
ons(config-if)#duplex half
This command is not supported for Ethernet0.

IOS is Version 12.2(17a)

The switch reports this:
FastEthernet0/17 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is Fast Ethernet, address is 0001.967d.7551 (bia
0001.967d.7551)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 10000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 2/255, rxload 4/255
  Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
  Keepalive not set
  Half-duplex, 10Mb/s, 100BaseTX/FX
ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
Last input 00:00:20, output 00:00:01, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters never
  Queueing strategy: fifo
Output queue 0/40, 0 drops; input queue 0/75, 0 drops
  5 minute input rate 179000 bits/sec, 95 packets/sec
  5 minute output rate 109000 bits/sec, 137 packets/sec
     769086 packets input, 187476366 bytes
     Received 205 broadcasts, 7848 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles
     7848 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored
     0 watchdog, 121 multicast
0 input packets with dribble condition detected
     1070957 packets output, 108533707 bytes, 0 underruns
0 output errors, 6011 collisions, 3 interface resets
     0 babbles, 0 late collision, 18974 deferred
0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier
0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

K
