Subject: [c-nsp] Shutting down main interface

In the following configuration (Router 2621XM), can I shut down int f0/1
since I am using only the sub-interfaces?
What are the implications?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------
!
interface FastEthernet0/1
 no ip address
 speed 100
 full-duplex
 no cdp enable
!
interface FastEthernet0/1.1
 encapsulation dot1Q 300
 ip address 10.20.100.1 255.255.255.0
 no cdp enable
!
interface FastEthernet0/1.2
 encapsulation dot1Q 201
 ip address 10.20.200.1 255.255.255.252
 no cdp enable
!
