[nsp] Compression on CEF Interface

Hi Gurus
 Is there any caveat with Software compression and CEF enabled on the same interface. 
the scenario is 

A---B----C

i hv enabled stac compression on the HDLC link between A and B .
After enabling compression, even  though i am able to ping from A to B  i cant ping end to end from A to C

Show compress on B shows 0 packets uncompressed

The Interface on B connecting to A is CEF enabled!!!!

Is there any IOS which will support the same
