I've been doing that anywhere I've configured BGP for years.  I've assumed
that most networks did it as well.  It seems to be generally accepted that
it's not worth trying to advertise longer prefixes than /24 into BGP
(except as mistakes) which is probably why being multihomed is an
acceptable (to ARIN) justification for assinging a customer a /24
regardless of how much IP space they really need.
