What does

	show mpls interfaces detail

tell you?  MTU should be at least 1500.  When running FRF.16/MFR
on 12.3T, the actual MTU was four bytes smaller than stated.

What ethernet switches are you using?  Some switches support
1518-octect frames *iff* the packets are ethertype 0x8100, but
otherwise are limited to 1514 octets.  (I'm excluding CRC octets
from frame sizes.)
