[nsp] Catalyst errdisable

I have the following configuration:

RouterA <--> Cat3550-1 <-.1q-> Cat3550-2 <--> RouterB

We added Cat3550-2 to provide some resiliency for the market Ethernet
segment, Then we got the dreaded "%ETHCNTR-3-LOOP_BACK_DETECTED:" which
shutdown the .1q trunk between the switches. I have experienced this
behavior before, but now we are getting MALLOCFAIL messages in the logs
of both switches (yes, the reported time is off).

After googling and searching CCO, I still don't have a good explanation
of this problem. The best I found was
https://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/2003-July/004374.html, but
it still doesn't provide a in depth solution. At this time, I have
turned off errdisable with "no errdisable detect cause all" pending a
TAC recommendation.

Any thoughts or helpful hints?
