2.5 times what? As far as I can see the relevant comparison here is
between the 3550-12T and the 3750G-24TS-E. Both have a list price of
$10K. You get more ports with the 3750, so obviously the price per
port is higher for the 3550. I think the price is more a reflection
of the fact that 3750 is newer, than anything else.
