Hmmm, I'm not sure whom you are attributing this statement to, but anyway
- the problem *is* that "router vendors" claim their products can do L2
(think "L2 VPNs" and "ATM bridging" etc.) - while "switch vendors" all
boast that their products can do "full wirespeed L3 routing!!!1!!".
The whole thread is about the resulting market confusion...
