your network and you're adding in-chassis redundancy the 720-3B is the way
to go.

I would also consider the Sup32 for the wiring closet based on the pricing.
I have a customer who is going to use them based on the pricing.  A 6509,
Sup32 and fan tray is $20k list.

Finally, one of the Sup32 variations is going to have 10Gb uplinks.  That
will make for a nice closet switch.  Even the 8x1Gb uplinks it has is nice
so you don't have to get a separate fiber blade or media converters.
