The PA-MC-8E1 is an 8x E1/G.703 adapter, which can either terminate
8 2Mbit E1 lines, or up to 4 channelized E1s with 30 channels each
(the adapter has a limit of 127 serials in total) plus "full-rate" E1s
for the rest.
The 8E1 is a "low speed" port adapter, and has been available since
from the beginning of the 7200 - so, yes, it works fine in a non-VXR
(we've been very happy with them).
