[c-nsp] recommended stable IOS version

Hello list, 
 
We currently have routers that we own and support deployed with IOS
12.2.23 and it looks as if this version is not available for newer 2800
series routers and is now a couple of major releases out of date. 
 
I am looking for some opinions on a nice stable version to upgrade to,
interested in avoiding bugs regarding Access-Lists, NAT, EIGRP, CEF, or
RIP v2.
