Especially since Cisco switches seem to disable ports for various reasons 
without doing much logging about the reason (or logging it at all). I do 
think Cisco switches are the macintoshes of the switch world, they try to 
do all kind of smart things under the surface, and when they fail to do 
what you want, it's hard to find out exactly what is going on.
