We recently (about a month ago) started using the Gigabit interfaces on our NPE-G1's and 7301 routers, and have had some strange issues.
Within the last week (One Tuesday, one yesterday and one today), 3 different devices (2x7301's and a G1) have all had the Gigabit port just "hang", and not pass traffic, requiring a "clear int GigX/Y" to restore it to service.
All 3 devices are connected to a Foundry FastIron FES9604.
These are the versions on the Cisco & Foundry gear:
7206VXR/G1: IOS (tm) 7200 Software (C7200-IS-M), Version 12.2(15)T14, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4)
7301: Cisco IOS Software, 7301 Software (C7301-IS-M), Version 12.3(11)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
7301: Cisco IOS Software, 7301 Software (C7301-IS-M), Version 12.3(11)T2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
FES9604: SW: Version 03.0.01eTc3
I'm not sure if its a Foundry or Cisco issue, but its starting to get bad.
I've connected each device to a second switch to provide a backup path, but this is getting a bit unnerving.
Anyone have any suggestions/ideas?
