Since moving from 2924XL to 2950s for some parts of our 
network(s), we have found auto-neg to work quite well 
actually, rather than hard-coding these values, even for 
some (older) devices that will only run 10Mbps, but have 
since been replaced by 100Mbps capable nodes.
