Considering that a VXR with an NPE-300/256m with 2.75 views (168405,
167985, and 125670 routes), a relatively skinny IGP and no soft
reconfiguration (running 12.0S) looks like this:

... I have an awfully hard time believing that an NPE-400 with twice
as much memory is going to be at all tight.

(of course, if "might get tight" actually means "might get tight in a
few years", well yeah, I agree with you; if that's what you're looking
to avoid, get the npe-g1 with a gig)
