Hello,
I have recently installed a pair of cisco 4948-10GE switches (12.2(25)EWA)
and I have a mystery. Every 10 minutes I get these three messages:
Oct 24 13:32:17: %C4K_HWPORTMAN-4-BLOCKEDTXQUEUE: Blocked transmit queue HwTxQId0 on Switch Phyport Gi1/44, count=13705
Oct 24 13:32:17: %C4K_HWPORTMAN-4-BLOCKEDTXQUEUE: Blocked transmit queue HwTxQId1 on Switch Phyport Gi1/44, count=13709
Oct 24 13:32:17: %C4K_HWPORTMAN-4-BLOCKEDTXQUEUE: Blocked transmit queue HwTxQId3 on Switch Phyport Gi1/44, count=13709
But Gi1/44 is not connected:
GigabitEthernet1/44 is down, line protocol is down (notconnect)
Previously, it did not report "Gi1/44" but just the integer "43".
I believe this changed when I enabled qos on the switch with the
command "qos" although I don't have any QoS config on the switch.
This looks like a cosmetic, off-by-N, display error.
But... the closest active port is g1/46 and even when I
cut the traffic going out that port to near zero I still
get the messages... every 10 minutes.
Port gi1/46 is a metroLAN connection from OnFiber, that goes
to a HP switch in another data center.
Anyone have any hints about what to do to track down the
root cause of these messages?
Thanks,
-mark
