If i understand correctly, Hot standby is when full redundancy between 2 
modules(Supervisor) is achieved, redundancy for processing and traffic, but 
the cold standby is when its not full redundant and it happens when state 
information is not sent from Active to cold for some reason ?

My active Sup720 is in module 5, because of some power problem this morning, 
it switched to module 6, as you can see from the log below, all BGP peers 
went down, and module 6 took place

I asked TAC if i can use the port on the standby module and they confirmed, 
so i put an Internet link on the Giga6/1 interface on the standby sup, with 
a BGP peer up, could that break the redundancy rule ? meaning, if i use the 
port on the standby and switching between modules takes place, should the 
gig on the standby be still working ?

When it switched active from 5 to 6, some ports on the flexwans didnt work 
and the Gig6/1 too
